Swimming lessons and water confidence, in your own pool

I offer private, personalised swimming lessons for children and adults of all ages and abilities, delivered at your home pool and at your convenience. Beyond stroke and technique, every lesson is rooted in water safety and confidence, because being safe in and around water is a life skill that protects people for the rest of their lives.

I am a Swim England qualified swimming instructor with a broad coaching background spanning competitive groups, primary school programmes and private tuition. I coach the Henley Junior Triathlon Squad and an adult triathlon squad in Maidenhead, and have delivered structured swimming programmes to primary schools across South Oxfordshire.

I teach swimmers of all abilities, from complete beginners taking their first strokes, to advanced swimmers refining their technique. Whether the goal is to build confidence, improve efficiency or enhance performance, I tailor every session to help every swimmer progress.

Who do I teach to swim?

  • Pre school children taking their first steps in the water

  • Children of all ages and abilities

  • Adults returning to swimming or learning for the first time

  • Nervous or anxious swimmers who thrive with patient, supportive coaching

  • Improvers building confidence, technique or stamina

  • Triathletes refining stroke and efficiency

What should you expect from your first swimming lesson?

Every swimmer begins with a relaxed assessment of their current confidence and ability in the water. From there, Georgina builds a plan around clear, achievable goals, whether that is putting their face in the water for the first time, swimming a length unaided, or sharpening a competitive stroke. Lessons progress at a pace that suits the individual working with their objectives.

Why private coaching works

Learning in your own pool removes the barriers that hold people back in busy public settings. There are no crowded lanes, no time pressure and no one-size-fits-all approach. Every session is built around you or your child and progresses at a pace that builds genuine confidence alongside real ability. For nervous swimmers especially, the calm of a familiar pool can be the difference between dreading the water and learning to love it.

Lesson formats

  • One-to-one sessions: fully personalised coaching tailored to the swimmer's goals and ability

  • Small group sessions: ideal for families or friends learning together, with the same individual attention

Cost

For lessons I charge 45 pounds per swimmer per 30-minute session, however if clients live outside a 5 mile radius from Henley on Thames an extra travelling charge may apply.

A block of 10 session will be discounted to £400.

I have been teaching since 2017 and during the last 9 years I have taught several hundred children and dozens of adults. I have worked with several local primary schools including years spent as a coach for Sonning Common primary school.

I excel at guiding children from foundational swimming skills through to confident, accomplished swimmers and I coach swimmers of all abilities, from age 3 upwards.

I have experienced an increase in demand to teach clients at home and so that has become my focus. To teach effectively, the client pool must be at least 10 meters long and heated to a temperature of between 28-30 degrees.

Sam - Georgina got me back in the water after a long time out of the pool. We chatted through my goals and every lesson was fun, progressive and left me with a real sense of achievement. I can’t recommend swimming lessons with Georgina highly enough.

Bill - Georgina taught both my girls to swim when she worked at the local leisure centre, they really enjoyed her lessons. She has incredible energy and really invests in every one of her swimmers.

Julia - Georgina taught both my boys to swim and my youngest has recently been diagnosed as autistic. Georgina/s teaching style is the right balance of authoritative and friendly which worked well for my boys.
